With a view to make each citizen of the state participate in the Swarna Jayanti Celebrations and contribute in building a stronger Haryana, as a sequel to the Swarna Jayanti Sankalp, a Rath-Yatra will commence from 7 April 2017, 'Vikram Samvat New Year Day'. This procession will cover 6,841 villages, 154 census towns, 80 municipal towns in 58 sub-divisions/126 blocks/83 tehsils and 48 sub-tehsils of 21 districts. This Vikas Yatra will continue for 50 days. It will also screen selected Haryanvi films in villages. It will be the biggest ever effort to take Haryanvi cinema to each and every village.

The aim of the Yatra is to create an environment of harmony and brotherhood. Each block will be given a "Rath" a decorated vehicle displaying the initiatives and achievements of Haryana Government to make prople aware and feel proud about the development of the State.
